Children of Light

As I was reading my devotional I read Ephisians 4:25-32 and it talked about who we are as Christians. for it states "Therefore each of you must put falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of his body. "in your anger do not sin, do not let the sun go down while you are still angry" which in my  opinion was saying that we should not let the things of this world get to us for it can lead us towards the wrong path. Also " He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something useful with his own hands, that may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of you mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those in need". God wants us to sterr away form the dark paths of sin and do amazing things instead. So if you read this i would like to encourage you to do something good today.
I would like to close with this verse from Jeremiah 6:16 " Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls".

We all live under one roof!

While reading my devotional( which sorry to say this but have been slacking...but god has brought me back to it) I thought about spring and( in case your wondering i'm not talking about spring break) i'm talking about the actual season. I mean the downside in my opinion is the pollen. But the reading i was reading Psalm 104:1-13, and 24-30  which state " praise the lord, O my soul,... he makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. Hemakes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants. He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved...." then in verse 24 " How many are your works, O lord! in wisdom you made them all; The earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond numbers- living things both large and small...THese all look to you to give them their food at the proper time..." these readings made me think about how people treat the earth not only is it spring where all the flowers bloom even for a day. But also this earth is home  to other things besides us humans. Therefore i encourage you to take from this reading to take care of this earth because god has given us this great home.

visions of the church

My church has been going through some financial problem so they decided to let go of one of their staff. That staff was the very man who brought me into the church and his name was Andrew. To settle down the issue of letting him go the church had a meeting about it. Youth groups and church members were arguing why Andrew was selected to leave and even with the tears and the persuasiveness of the people the decision became final and andrew had to leave. Through this event even though i was angry i read the verse john 17:11-12 which states " i will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world..." and "while i was with them, i protected them and kept them safe by that name..." which since andrew was the youth pastor he meant a lot to us. Then through the mist of this god also put on my mind the verse of romans 8:28 which states" And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him" So we will always have Andrew in our prayer and we know that god will comfort not only us but him aswell.
